The brief
Michigan’s disputed win over Western Michigan opens the show, with Brandon Walker and Kayce arguing that the clock expired before the decisive play and officials denied a historic upset.
The conversation widens to Boise State against Oregon, Auburn against Baylor, and LSU’s dominant performance against Clemson, which prompts a debate over emergence versus decline.
Quarterback play, Oklahoma State’s collapse against Tulsa, and standout performances from players including Kenny Minchie, Mason Heintschel, Arch Manning, and Malachi Toney shape the middle of the recap.
The hosts build recurring Week One categories around the most impressive and depressed teams, the best players, winners, losers, and preseason predictions that already look wrong.
Eric Winters’ game-saving tackle and Josh Hoover’s bloody performance supply the weekend’s signature toughness, while LSU leads the case for the most impressive team.
Brandon names Lane Kiffin the ultimate winner, arguing that the Ole Miss coach is positioned to remain central to college football’s biggest storylines.
