Falcons’ quarterback switch fuels criticism of Cooper Rush
Sports shows largely discuss Cooper Rush as the struggling Falcons quarterback replaced by Michael Penix, with Atlanta’s offense improving sharply after Penix returned.[1][2][3]
On Fantasy Footballers, Jason Moore said Atlanta’s first 2 weeks had to be thrown away and called Rush not an NFL quarterback after his replacement became available.[1]
Pardon My Take’s Dan Katz said the Rush-to-Penix change mattered because Penix could throw downfield, while the Falcons produced 500 yards against Green Bay.[4]
Fearless’s Steve Kim argued that Penix only needed to be serviceable to show what Atlanta could do without Rush, while Jason Whitlock credited the system and ground game too.[5][3]
Other shows use Rush as a benchmark for poor quarterback play, though Bill Simmons said another quarterback’s performance was worse and Ross Tucker treated Rush as a temporary backup option.[6][7]

“uh, pretty damn good, and so does Kevin Stefanski, who got ran out of Cleveland and everyone thought he was the problem and he ruined Shedeur. Doesn't seem to be doing too bad with Michael Penix, who's now back healthy. Couldn't get it done”

“but there seems to be some serious problems with the Packers team. Their offensive line is very banged up. Yeah, they lost their best offensive lineman for the year. But man, they're 4.5-point favorites to a team. And obviously Michael Peni”
