Dedication Night turns DWTS into an emotional judging test
Danielle with… Kym Johnson-Herjavec (Ballroom Breakdown DWTS 3507)
The episode shows how personal tributes, technical standards, and compressed judging decisions collide on one of the season’s most emotionally loaded nights.
- 1Kym Herjavec’s return to the judging table brings a dancer’s eye to balancing encouragement with technical critique.
- 2Ezra Frech and Amber Glenn deliver the night’s defining emotional performances, earning the first and second perfect scores.
- 3The leaderboard remains unsettled as Horror Night approaches a double elimination with Shirley Ballas joining the judging panel.
Don't miss
Ezra Frech and Daniela Karagach incorporate his prosthetic into a contemporary tribute to his mother, prompting Kym Herjavec to award the night’s first 10.
The brief
Kym Herjavec returns as a guest judge for Dancing with the Stars’ Dedication Night, where tributes to family and loved ones make every technical decision feel unusually personal.
The central judging challenge is encouragement versus critique: Kym praises emotional honesty while still weighing frame, grounding, lifts, softness, and ballroom technique under severe time limits.
Ezra Frech and Daniela Karagach use his prosthetic as part of a tribute to his mother, earning the night’s first 10; Amber Glenn later answers with a vulnerable contemporary and the second perfect score.
Other standouts include Harry Shum Jr.’s long-awaited commitment to foxtrot technique, Julia Stiles’s playful grief for Heath Ledger, and Tyler Cameron’s surprise gender reveal.
With no couple eliminated, the episode ends by looking toward Horror Night’s double elimination, where the emotional goodwill of Dedication Night will meet sharper competitive stakes.
