Don't miss
Tom Pelissero explains the financial and roster logic behind Philadelphia trading Cam Jurgens to Baltimore while Bill Simmons questions the compensation.
The brief
Bill Simmons and Rob Mahoney preview the West through roster dilemmas rather than simple rankings, weighing Kyrie Irving’s future, Aaron Gordon’s importance, and Golden State’s expensive fragility.
The NBA discussion keeps returning to development and fit: Houston must decide how patiently to handle Reed Sheppard, while Oklahoma City weighs Cason Wallace’s defensive value against his offensive ceiling.
Tom Pelissero explains why Minnesota’s 4–0 start is credible despite a weak offense, then examines Denver’s play-calling reset, the Chargers’ crisis, and Philadelphia’s injury-driven trade.
The Eagles’ decision to trade Cam Jurgens to Baltimore becomes the sharpest NFL case study: financial and roster logic collide with the pressure to preserve a contender.
Simmons and Joe House close with baseball and WNBA playoff discussion, a sprawling mailbag, and Week 5 picks shaped by travel, injuries, matchups, and coaching trust.
