The brief
Pat McAfee, A.J. Hawk, Darius Butler, and Dan Orlovsky sort through a chaotic Week 4, where close finishes and technical mayhem mirror the league’s unstable early hierarchy.
Orlovsky argues Jacksonville, Chicago, and San Francisco are not flukes: Trevor Lawrence, Ben Johnson’s risk-taking, and the 49ers’ revived stars give each team a real foundation.
The sharpest quarterback debate runs from Daniel Jones’ returning pocket problems and Justin Herbert’s costly decisions to Bryce Young’s improved processing and connection with Tetairoa McMillan.
Dallas’ manipulation of Houston’s coverage creates a dangerous Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens combination, while Denver’s hesitation and Philadelphia’s dysfunction draw concern.
The episode’s wider tension is whether injuries, penalty explosions, and inconsistent officiating are distorting the standings—or revealing teams that cannot withstand pressure.
The standout turn is Ben Johnson’s Bears analysis: aggressive fourth-down calls and rhythm-building offense can control games even when the quarterback is not the central star.
