Don't miss
Thiel links the American presidency to the Antichrist while saying he does not identify Donald Trump as that figure.
The brief
Exclusive recordings capture Peter Thiel criticizing the Trump administration’s war in Iran and warning that an International Criminal Court arrest warrant could hang over the presidency.
Calder McHugh explains why Thiel’s opposition is striking given his longstanding support for Trump, while the hosts place the ICC discussion alongside its warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu.
The conversation connects Thiel’s references to totalitarianism with fears of domestic prosecution and his influence among right-leaning Silicon Valley investors, including figures such as J.D. Vance.
The episode’s sharpest turn comes when Thiel links the American presidency to the Antichrist, while stopping short of identifying Donald Trump as that figure.
Thiel’s katakon is defined as the person who prevents the Antichrist from taking power, raising questions about whether his theology could shape donations and the tech right’s politics.
