The brief
Alison and Dana open with allegations that USPS moved ahead with vote-by-mail changes despite a court order, alongside disputes over science policy, immigration enforcement, and environmental protections.
The episode’s central turn comes in Alison’s interview with Santiago Mayer, founder of Voters of Tomorrow, about converting Gen Z’s economic frustration into community-centered political organizing.
Mayer links youth political power to the practical fight against voter suppression, changing attitudes toward Republicans, and growing interest in younger candidates.
Listener-submitted good news brings the focus back to everyday civic life, from correcting misinformation and local activism to creative public art, international support, and an owl near a chicken coop.
The episode closes by pairing political vigilance with mutual care, mental health, and attention to the planet rather than treating resilience as an afterthought.
