Flores’ Vikings defense drives praise, matchup talk and coaching debate
Panelists repeatedly credit Brian Flores’ Vikings defense for Minnesota’s undefeated or 3-0 start, including Ross Tucker and Dan Katz, who say the defense is driving the team’s results.[1][2][3]
Ross Tucker, Mike Wright and Derrik Klassen describe Flores’ defense as effective against difficult opponents, with Klassen saying he believed Flores could succeed with any group of players.[4][5][6]
Several shows frame Flores as a tactical matchup, especially against Ben Johnson, with Tom Pelissero asking whether Flores will blitz heavily or play coverage.[7][8]
Jason Whitlock argues Flores would be viewed as an elite head-coaching candidate without his lawsuit against Miami, while other shows focus on his defensive performance rather than that dispute.[9][10][1]
ESPN’s Leaguewide links Flores’ defensive concepts to another coach’s work, while Ben Solak cautions against assuming a coach is good merely because he worked under successful coaches.[11]

“And now the Vikings are 3-0. That's a lot because of their defense and Brian Flores. They have gone back-to-back games with one single red zone possession.”

“I'm going to take the Vikings. I'm going to take the Vikings in this one, just one unit, but I think this is a different animal that they're going to go up against in Brian Flores, and Brian Flores' defense than what they just faced in Caro”
