Flow is a mental state in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment. Characterized by complete absorption in a task, it often results in a transformation of one's sense of time and a harmonious balance between challenge and skill. The concept was recognized and named by psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.
