Sulforaphane

Topic

Sulforaphane is a phytochemical within the isothiocyanate group of organosulfur compounds, notably found in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and cabbage. It is produced when the enzyme myrosinase converts glucoraphanin into sulforaphane, a process typically triggered by plant damage such as chewing or chopping.
