Referee confrontation drives discussion of Trey McBride
Sports shows are discussing video of a referee repeatedly saying “fuck you” to Trey McBride during a confrontation after McBride believed he was interfered with.[1][2]
Pardon My Take debated whether referees should be allowed to swear back at players, while Eli Manning said officials cannot curse at them and can be penalized for it.[3][2]
Ross Tucker called the exchange a bad look and argued officials should meet a high behavioral standard when their comments to McBride are caught on camera.[4][5]
Jason Whitlock reported that Jeff Siemon received 2 games for cursing at McBride, while also saying he was not defending officials cursing at players.[6]
Fantasy Footballers also discussed McBride as a fantasy tight end, placing him behind George Kittle and ahead of several other tight ends in their ranking.[7][8]

“what they see from guys at the highest level. So I'm on board with that. But if we're going to be like that with players and their behavior, then officials absolutely have to be held to the high standard, especially if they're getting caugh”
